What happened to the Republicans in VA?
The above is a book review.
After just electing Jim Gilmore governor, could you have imagined the old dominion would be on the brink of turning blue for Barack Obama?

Things You can do to Help Obama Win red states
1. Vote for Obama
2. Convince someone you know to vote for Barack Obama (this must be someone who was not previously inclined towards him before your impending conversation)
3. Stand outside entrances to Wal-Mart in hunting gear with signs that say, "Gun Owners for Obama" (smile at the dirty looks)
4. Stand outside the entrance of major Christian institutions, dressed in Sunday best, with signs that say, "Christians for Obama" (I chose Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA, but the possibilities are endless. Major Baptist churches, wherever the local station broadcasts Sunday morning service in your area, Christian books stores in strip malls, etc)
5. Call your local conservative radio talk show host and nicely state that you voted for Bush in 2000, but now the only candidate that shares your optimism for this country's future greatness is Barack Hussein Obama. Adding phrases like, "reminds me of Reagan with how he inspires," or "Obama Republican" are positives to dwell on when you are yelled at, insulted, and cut off by the host.

Day 2
Friday, October 10
Winchester, VA
Hagerstown, MD
I got supplies for signs at a CVS in Winchester and thought about what to do. I went to a mall and other large stock stores in the commercial area of Apple Blossom Mall.
About 450 pm I heard on a WV based AMradio that Obama had scored a 10% point lead on a particular WV state poll (I cannot remember who conducted).
Also the stock market went down about 800 and something points capping off the worst week in NYSE history. Every radio station reported this information.
I tried to find the Obama office in Winchester, but my google application failed me in this case and I ran out of time before I could get to:
19 W. Cork St. (winchester,va --- 434-378-9847)

Day 1
October 9, 2008
I arrived in Washington DC, and it was hot. I had a plan to go to mall and get kids all fired up and chanting the name: "O-BA-MA! O-BA-MA! O-BA-MA". I got down town too late (almost 2pm) and it was a holiday. It seemed as empty as Republican ideas in the 21st century down between the Smithsonians.
So I left. I went in search of Obama paraphernalia to spread throughout the country side.
I found none. Thursday, Day 1, was not a success.
